A child with shorter left leg/femur
A 7-year-old boy with a shorter left leg by 5.5 cm. The difference in the length of the lower extremities was noticed by his parents when he was 3 years old. Prior to the length correction operation, measurement was performed by a comparative X-ray for both legs. The left femur appeared shorter by 3.5 cm in relation to the right one. The lower left leg appeared shorter by 2.0 cm in relation to the right lower leg. Hence, the total radiographically measured shortening was 5.5 cm. The pelvis is horizontal with an increase of 5 cm. Here we see the very first X-Ray, depicting the disease. Latin diagnosis: Reductio longitudinis femoris congenital; Inegalitas extremitas inf. Abreviatio extrem. inf.l. sin.
