Acinar cell carcinoma of the pancreas
VR, virtual reality CT, 3D-rendering CT scan of a 40-year-old female shows a tumor approximately 11 x 8 x 6 cm (centimeters) in size. Location: the body of the pancreas, the left peritoneal space, para-aortic. Invasion: right and left lobes of the liver, antral part of the stomach, para-aortic lymph nodes, right adrenal gland. Metastases: tumor thrombosis of the inferior vena cava, right common iliac vein, peritoneal carcinomatosis (Omental cake), retroperitoneal lymph nodes of all groups. Structure: heterogeneous, including tissue density destruction. Contrast: 30 & 90 seconds. The tumor is from the pancreas with the invasion of the liver, stomach, lymph nodes, and right adrenal gland. At micrograph: an acinar cell carcinoma of the pancreas. There is cholecystitis and ascites. A 64-slice CT scanner was used, with the thickness parameter set to 0.625 mm. A 100 ml iodine contrast with V = 5 ml/sec injection was administered prior to the scan.
