Adenocarcinoma of the Meibomian Gland
A 65-year-old woman has been going to an ophthalmologist for the past two years, with regular check-ups every three months due to a lesion on the inside of the upper eyelid. The lesion looked like a chalazion and surgical intervention was recommended after the lesion changed its color to dark purple. In this post-op photo, notice that the tumor is completely removed, which was pathophysiologically confirmed. The inner side of the upper eyelid is smooth, and shiny, without any visible signs of surgical incisions.
