AIDS-related Pulmonary Mycobacterium avium complex infection - untreated - first-time detected
An axial CT scan with contrast enhancement of a 35-year-old female diagnosed as AIDS positive. It shows a right middle lobe fibrocavitary pattern, right upper lobe ground-glass opacy, left lower lobe centrilobular opacity type "tree in the bud". Mycobacterium avium complex was isolated. Hepatomegaly is also seen. A 64-slice CT scanner was used, with the thickness parameter set to 0.5 mm. A 100 ml iodine contrast with V = 5 ml/sec injection was administered prior to the scan.
