AIDS-related Pulmonary Mycobacterium avium complex infection - untreated - first-time detected
An axial CT scan with contrast enhancement of a 59-year-old male diagnosed as AIDS positive. It shows a right upper and lower lobes fibrocavitary patter, left upper lobe centrilobular opacity type "tree in the bud", random nodules in both lungs and bronchial wall thickening in the both lower lobes. Mycobacterium avium complex was diagnosed. A 64-slice CT scanner was used, with the thickness parameter set to 0.5 mm. A 100 ml iodine contrast with V = 5 ml/sec injection was administered prior to the scan.
