Air bronchogram in bacterial pneumonia
This is a transverse CT image with contrast enhancement of a 58-year-old smoker male with a history of primary myelofibrosis. It shows consolidation with an air bronchogram at the left lower lobe. Minor atelectasis in the right lower lobe is also visible. There are also diffuse ground glass centrilobular nodules at the left lower lobe and paraseptal emphysema in the left upper lobe. Hepatosplenomegaly and osteosclerosis diffuse patterns are also seen. A 64-slice CT scanner was used, with the thickness parameter set to 0.5 mm. A 100 ml iodine contrast with V = 5 ml/sec injection was administered prior to the scan.
