Ascending aortic dissection

A bicuspid aortic valve is most common congenital aortic valve anomaly. In many patients, a bicuspid aortic valve leads to aortic stenosis, aortic insufficiency and thoracic aortic aneurysm. A 46 years old male presented with a Sievers type 1 "N-R" bicuspid aortic valve, acute thoracic aortic dissection (De Bakey type I) and severe aortic insufficiency, referred to emergency surgery: aortic valve and ascending aortic replacement (Bentall procedure)
