Burkitt lymphoma of the rectum

This is a transverse CT image of a 63-year-old male with a history of Burkitt lymphoma (BL) and large bowel obstruction with surgical treatment 2 months before this scan. It shows a circumferential mass encasing the high rectum to the level of the rectosigmoid junction. Enlarged right iliac lymph nodes and a surgically created stoma between the colon and the abdominal wall are also noted. A 64-slice CT scanner was used. This CT scan procedure included dynamic acquisition at 35 and 90 seconds after administration of iodine contrast (volume: 100 mL; flow rate: 2.5 mL/s), and the CT scanner's slice thickness was 1 mm.
