Chlorpromazine, Molecular Model
Illustration of chlorpromazine (thorazine), simple stick model. Chlorpromazine was one of the first antipsychotic drugs developed to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Chlorpromazine acts by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain. Chlorpromazine produces a calming effect and controls aggression, delusions and hallucinations. It is also prescribed to control nausea, vomiting and persistent hiccups.
