Cystic Fibrosis, CT Scan of Chest
Axial slice from a high resolution CT scan of the chest of a 25 year old woman with cystic fibrosis. Thin walled cystic lesions are seen in the upper lobes bilaterally. There is generalized bronchiectasis noted involving all lobes of the lungs. There is some atelectasis noted in the lingular segment and right middle lobe. There is "tree-in-bud" appearance in the peripheral lung as a result of mucous and fluid filled intralobular bronchioles. A pattern of interstitial fibrosis is seen bilaterally.
