Diabetic retinopathy

A male patient in his 60s. Fundoscopy of retinal changes caused by diabetic retinopathy. It may lead to poor vision and even blindness. In this disorder, small blood vessels in the retina weaken and leak into the retina and the vitreous humor (the fluid inside the eye). Fragile new blood vessels form but break easily, causing further leakage.
