Ectopic teeth in the maxillary sinuses
Oblique sagittal reconstruction CT scan of a 34-year female. Noticeable are hyperdense structures of 2000 Hounsfield units (HU) in the upper posterior walls of both maxillary sinuses with hypodensity in the center, indicating ectopic teeth in the maxillary sinuses. A 64-slice CT scanner was used, with the thickness parameter set to 0.625 mm. A 100 ml iodine contrast with V = 5 ml/sec injection was administered prior to the scan.
