Endocarditis: vegetation on the aortic valve
A 54 years old female patient complained of palpitations, shortness of breath, pain behind the sternum, vertigo. She also suffered from bacterial pneumonia with a fever and temperature of 37.5°С. Intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography. ME LAX View (mid-esophageal, long axis). A large calcified formation (vegetation) is visualized on the aortic valve cusp having a size 13mm X 9 mm, prolapsing with blood flow in diastole into the left ventricle outlet tract.
