Endocarditis: vegetation on the aortic valve

A 54 years old female patient complained of palpitations, shortness of breath, pain behind the sternum, vertigo. She also suffered from bacterial pneumonia with a fever and temperature of 37.5°С. Intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography. ME AV SAX (mid-esophageal, aortic valve, short axis) view. Not-coronary cusp of the aortic valve is roughly changed in the marginal zone with the areas of calcification, making vertical “shadows”. At 3 o’clock the left coronary artery originates.
