Hirschsprung's disease. The mucosa is above, the muscular-mucosa (in pink) is underneath and the submucosa (in orange) is below. Between the muscular-mucosa and the submucosa is Meissner's plexus (in light orange) which is devoid of nerve ganglia. Histological section of the colon, HES stain, x 60 (at 24x36 mm size).
