Impression of the number of polymorphonuclear cell (x200)

The surface area of fields of view (SA-FOV) under microscopic magnification x200 is 25 X larger than SA-FOV under magnification x1000. Viewing samples under magnification x200 (30 non-contiguous FOV) enables easy identification of PMN and examination of the much larger sample surface (150 times larger) than in the standard approach under magnification x1000 (10 non-contiguous FOV). The probability of adequate assessment of the number of objects on a given surface is directly proportional to the size of the explored surface and inversely proportional to the heterogeneity of their distribution.
