Inflicted skin lesions - brown skin
Inflicted skin lesions (dermatitis artefacta) in a 15-year-old girl. Note the bizarre linear pattern on the easily accessible sites only, and on the side of the dominant hand. No similar lesions elsewhere. Dermatitis artefacta is a condition in which skin lesions are solely produced or inflicted by the patient's own actions. This usually occurs as a result or manifestation of a psychological problem. Fitzpatrick skin type (FST) phototype 5.
