Internal jugular vein agenesis
This is a transverse CT image with contrast enhancement of a 46-year-old female patient. It shows the absence of the right internal jugular vein and a left internal jugular vein ectasia with a diameter of 2.2 cm. Collateral venous circulation subcutaneously on the chest and neck is also prominent. A 64-slice CT scanner was used. This CT scan procedure included dynamic acquisition at 35 and 90 seconds after administration of iodine contrast (volume: 100 mL; flow rate: 2.5 mL/s), and slice thickness was 1 mm.
