Ischemic mitral regurgitation
An elderly 68 years old male patient with an ischemic mitral insufficiency due to a dysfunction of the posterior-medial papillary muscle and annuloectasia of the mitral valve fibrous ring after myocardial infarction of the left ventricle. Intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography before the surgery. ME LAX View (mid-esophageal, long axis). Along the mitral valve fibrous ring, an annuloplasty ring is visualized. A mild mitral regurgitation is visualized during the color Doppler ultrasonography. The distance between not closed cusps is 3 mm.
