Leg extension surgery - Post op X-Ray scan
A 7-year-old boy with a shorter left leg by 5.5 cm. The difference in the length of the lower extremities was noticed by his parents when he was 3 years old. Prior to the length correction operation, measurement was performed by a comparative X-ray for both legs. The left femur appeared shorter by 3.5 cm in relation to the right one. The lower left leg appeared shorter by 2.0 cm in relation to the right lower leg. Hence, the total radiographically measured shortening was 5.5 cm. Here we see an X-Ray scan, one year following the surgery. The postoperative course went well, with antibiotics and thromboembolic prophylaxis applied. The child is was in good condition. The Femur was dislocated by 2 mm. See image 01BA9BTR (and related ones) for pre-op X-Ray scans.
