Liver metastasis of medullary carcinoma of thyroid gland 28y
A female patient 28 years old, underwent surgery for medullary thyroid cancer 4 years prior to this scan. She felt nausea & occasionally vomited. Following an ultrasound scan, diffuse changes in the liver were noticed. The patient underwent an MRI scan of the abdomen BEFORE the treatment. On this MRI scan, utilising T1W post-contrast (T1 weighted) axial tomogram, we see that the liver is of normal configuration and position. The largest metastatic change in S6; it is up to 41 mm in diameter which suppresses the gallbladder.
