Liver metastasis of medullary carcinoma of thyroid gland 28y
A female patient 28 years old, underwent surgery for medullary thyroid cancer 4 years prior to this scan. She felt nausea & occasionally vomited. Following an ultrasound scan, diffuse changes in the liver were noticed. AFTER the 2 months long treatment, the patient underwent an abdomen MRI scan to assess the response to applied therapy. On this MRI scan, utilising T1W postcontrast (T1 weighted) axial tomogram we can see that the liver is of normal configuration and position, smooth contour, with solitary metastatic subcapsular change, showing homogeneous and clear marginal postcontrast amplification of signal intensity, smaller diameters compared to initial MRI, before the therapy. A good response to the applied therapy!
