Medulloblastoma, MRI

This axial (cross-sectional), T2-weighted MR image shows obstructive hydrocephalus secondary to a large medulloblastoma filling and obstructing the fourth ventricle. A medulloblastoma is an aggressive type of primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) which can seed the subarachnoid spaces with metastatic foci. This is one of the most common posterior fossa tumors of childhood.
