Medulloblastoma, MRI

This axial (cross-sectional), diffusion-weighted (DWI) MRI image shows diffusion restriction of the large fourth ventricular medulloblastoma which is indicative of a highly cellular, aggressive tumor. A medulloblastoma is an aggressive type of primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) which can seed the subarachnoid spaces with metastatic foci. This is one of the most common posterior fossa tumors of childhood.
