Metastatic obstructive ileus

A male patient, 65 years old, underwent surgery for obstructive ileus (a year prior to this photograph) and underwent T-T anastomosis of the ileum due to carcinoma of the intestinal tract that led to obstruction. Following the chemotherapy, he came back with severe pain in the abdomen and bloating. The radiography examination indicated ileus, and the patient underwent the surgery again. This photo shows a part of the ileum that is completely narrowed due to metastasis that stopped the normal passage through the intestine. Pathohistological findings confirmed the metastasis of adenocarcinoma of previous malignancy, which took place one year prior.
