
Mycetoma - brown skin
Mycetoma is a progressive tumourālike mass, often affecting the foot. It may be caused by actinomycetes (actinomycetoma) or fungi, notably Madurella mycetomatis (eumycetoma); The diagnosis can be confirmed by histology and culture of the grains that extrude from the lesion. The mass can destructively invade underlying bone. Fitzpatrick skin type (FST) phototype 5.
