Myxoma

A 55 years old female patient was admitted to the cardiology ward, complaining about severe shortness of breath, palpitations & severe physical activity limitations. She lost 6 kg of her body weight in the past 5 months. A large formation in the left atrium was detected during the transthoracic echocardiography. Intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography. ME LAX View (mid-esophageal, long axis). A large formation on a wide base (2.6 cm) coming from the anterior mitral valve cusp is visualized. The formation is prolapsing into the left ventricle during diastole and leads to the dynamic mitral stenosis.
