Non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR)

Fundus photo of left eye in the 54 years female patient with Diabetes mellitus, non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) and Diabetic Macular Edema (DME). The standard fundus photography captures 45° of the posterior pole of the eye. The photographs demonstrate numerous diffusely scattered microaneurysms, dot-blot hemorrhages, and hard exudates in the posterior pole. The smaller yellowish lesions are "hard exudates" which are lipoprotein deposits from incompetent capillaries surround the area of edema in the in upper and temporal part of the macula. BCVA 20/30
