Non-tuberculous Mycobacterial - NTM CT scans
A 66-year-old man, a non-smoker, complained of difficulty breathing, loss of air, loss of appetite and body weight, productive cough accompanied by frothy white sputum, night sweats and increased temperature in the evening hours. After spirometry, which showed restriction in the small airways with a decrease in the vital capacity of the lungs, this patient was referred for a Sputum Culture lab test and CT lung scan. This axial CT scan shows thickened and strengthened interstitial septa bilaterally in the lungs.
