Pancreatic tail cancer. PET scan
Pancreatic tail cancer (neuroendocrine tumor, square). CT and 68Ga-DOTATOC PET scans, fusion image, of the abdomen in a 74 year old male patient, axial section. DOTATOC is a somatostatin analogue that binds to somatostatin receptors that are often present in neuroendocrine tumors. The physiological distribution of this tracer is different from FDG. In this picture it also attaches to the liver, left, and spleen, right (which are healthy).
