Pancreatic tail cancer. PET scan

Pancreatic tail cancer (neuroendocrine tumor, square). CT, 68Ga-DOTATOC PET scans and fusion image of the abdomen in a 74 year old male patient, coronal section. DOTATOC is a somatostatin analogue that binds to somatostatin receptors that are often present in neuroendocrine tumors. The physiological distribution of this tracer is different from FDG. In this picture it also attaches to the liver, left, spleen, right, and kidneys, below (which are healthy).
