
Pelvic Muscles
Line drawing featuring the iliopsoas muscle formed from the psoas major muscle and the iliacus muscle. The psoas major is shown to originate along the outer surfaces of the vertebral bodies of T12 and L1–L3 and their associated intervertebral discs. It is shown inserting on the lesser trochanter. The iliacus originates in the iliac fossa of the pelvis and is shown inserted on the shaft of the femur. Also shown are a lateral view of the gluteus major muscle and the biceps femoris and its tendon inserted on the head of the fibula.
