
Proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR)
Fundus photo of a 58-year-old male patient with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (right eye). Active neovascularization on the optic disc and along the main vascular arcades. Retrohyaloid haemorrhage below and nasal to the optic disc. Multiple retinal haemorrhages. Despite this, the macula is relatively intact and the visual acuity was high. His visual acuity (VA) at the time was 20/40.
