Psoriasis plaques

A 63-year-old woman came in for an examination due to changes on the skin of her back. They are bright red, painful, raised above the skin, itchy, and covered with whitish pearly scales. The plaques are of different sizes, with clear borders to the surrounding healthy skin, extending towards the gluteal region. The diagnosis was Psoriatic plaques, which was also confirmed pathophysiologically by a skin biopsy lab test. Fitzpatrick skin type (FST) phototype 2.
