Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP)

This is a transverse CT image with contrast enhancement of a 41-year-old smoker male with a history of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It shows smooth thickening of interlobular and interlobular septal lines and ground glass opacities, dominantly at lower lobes in both lungs. A 64-slice CT scanner was used, with the thickness parameter set to 0.5 mm. A 100 ml iodine contrast with V = 5 ml/sec injection was administered prior to the scan.
