Resorptive lung atelectasis

This is a transverse CT image with contrast enhancement of a 50-year-old male with a history of mediastinal Hodgkin lymphoma, left lung invasion, and obstruction of the left upper secondary lobar bronchus. Notice the left upper lobe resorptive (obstructive) atelectasis. A small loculated pleural effusion is also visible on the left side. A 64-slice CT scanner was used, with the thickness parameter set to 0.5 mm. A 100 ml iodine contrast with V = 5 ml/sec injection was administered prior to the scan.
