Rocky Mountain Elk Bulls
Rocky Mountain Elk (Cervus elaphus nelsoni) bulls challenge opponents by bugling and by paralleling each other, walking back and forth. This allows potential combatants to assess the others antlers, body size and fighting proewss. If neither bull backs down, they then engaged in battle. Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
