Enhanced light micrograph of roundworm (ascaris) cells in the metaphase stage of mitosis. Mitosis is the cell division of a nucleus, typically consisting of four stages: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. It usually results in two new nuclei, each of which contains a complete copy of the parental chromosomes. Magnification 160x @ 35mm.
