SEM Radiolaria

SEM of a fossilized silicious skeleton of an ancient single cell organism, Radiolaria, one of the first forms of life on the planet. The specimen was imaged in high vacuum at 30 000 Kv and at a magnification of 1700 x at 8" x 10". The specimen was collected in the Barbados Islands and gold coated before micrographed. The image has been digitally colorized in Photoshop.
