This axial (cross-sectional) Susceptibility Weighted (SWI) MR image of the brain in a patient who sustained severe head injury shows multiple areas of intracranial hemorrhage (bleeding) which look dark on this new, advanced MR sequence. Prominent areas of hemorrhage (dark areas) are in the corpus callosum.
