Shingles
A 28 aged male. Fitzpatrick skin type (FST) phototype 3. Shingles, also called herpes zoster, is a viral infection. Its causative agent, the herpes virus (Herpes zoster), is also the causative agent of varicella zoster, a common childhood illness that can also affect adults. After curing chicken pox, the herpetic virus does not leave the body, remaining in the nerve cells in a dormant state. In the presence of immune failures, the virus can begin to enter the blood again, causing herpes zoster (shingles).
