Stage 2 macular hole

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan of a 62-year-old female patient with stage 2 macular hole. The small full-thickness tear arises at an eccentric position. The posterior cortical vitreous is still attached at the fovea. Note the presence of intraretinal cystoid spaces around the edges of the hole. The central parts of the vitreous body are more compacted. The peripheral vitreous is more transparent. Small fragments of tissue are visible at the bottom of the tear. BCVA 20/40.
