Stages of macular hole development - Stage 1A

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan of a 59-year-old female patient with stage 1A macular hole. There is not yet a full-thickness macular hole. This OCT scan shows a pseudocyst in the inner part of the fovea due to the traction exerted by the incompletely detached posterior hyaloid. The central cyst is divided into several cystic spaces by septa. The inner segment/outer segment (IS/OS) line is intact. BCVA20/20.
