TAR Syndrome
A female, one and half-month old baby, born following an adequately managed and controlled pregnancy. Notice deficiencies of upper extremities, which were visible immediately after the birth, including congenital thrombocytopenia. She was diagnosed with Thrombocytopenia Absent Radius (TAR) syndrome at birth. On this colored X-Ray of the whole body in the AP projection and in the supine position, a normally developed skeleton of the entire spine, sternum, and lower extremities can be seen, while the bones of the upper extremities cannot be clearly differentiated except for the bones of the hand and fingers - a bilateral absent of radii is noticeable.
