
Transesophageal echocardiography
Congenital heart disease, bicuspid aortic valve. ME AV SAX (mid-esophageal, aortic valve, short axis) view. In systole, the leaflets separate completely, forming a boxlike appearance on the M-mode recording. The aortic coaptation point is seen as a thin line in the diastole.
