Ventral abdominal hernia
This is a transverse CT image with contrast enhancement of a 71-year-old female with a history of Hodgkin lymphoma. Approximately 3 cm below the umbilicus is a 10 x 8 cm wide anterior abdominal wall defect, resulting in a 15 x 12 cm subcutaneous hernial sac. Sac contains the stomach, small bowel loops, mesentery, and omentum. There is no bowel incarceration. Mesentery lymphadenopathy is also visible. A 64-slice CT scanner was used, with the thickness parameter set to 0.5 mm. A 100 ml iodine contrast with V = 5 ml/sec injection was administered prior to the scan.
