NEURON
A pyamidal neuron of the mouse brain (red) is composed of a cell body, an axon (the long prolongation with a regular contour) and several dendrites. The irregular contour of the dendrites is explained by the presence of dentritic spikes which enter into connection with adjacent neurons allowing the transmission of messages. Nerve impulses are propagated to the target (another neuron, muscle, etc.) via the axon X 800
