PANCREAS, DRAWING
The pancreas is a digestive tract organ lying deep in the abdomen in close relation with the duodenum. The pancreas measures 15 cm long and has three parts: the head is the voluminous part measuring 6 cm high; the medial part is the body which terminates with a thin tail. The pancreas produces hormones including insulin (internal secretion) and gastric juices (external secretion) which are delivered to the duodenum.
